I heard about Windows “Hello” and it providing an option to use the fingerprint reader to login or sign into Windows. Works perfectly, hope it works for you too! Now to your question This is what I did: I don’t know weather this will work for some one else but it worked for me for my HP Elitebook p with validity inc fingerprint sensor VFS

Thanks for marking this as the answer. Kike beer Replied on November 7, I rebooted and the Biometric device was not listed, but an unknown device showed up in the Device Manager.
I went to the Settings-Accounts-Sign-in page in Windows MichaelGiuliano Replied on September 7, I tried several different drivers, but could only get the HP Client Security program to recognize the fingerprint sensor. I finally solved it but realy don’t know how its done.

RCQ86 Replied on August 22, I now have a smile and a working fingerprint reader using Windows 10 Windows Hello. No option for Windows Hello listed on the. I got it to work despite my fingerprint sensor supposedly not being recognized. Message 1 of 6. Didn’t find what you were looking for? I downloaded and installed HP protect tools for my laptop from HP website which was basically for windows 7 and installed it.
I removed and registered my fingerprints again and again but its not working. In eltiebook to DeeMinter’s post on November 1, This worked and my fingerprints were successfully registered.

I stumbled and I mean stumbled, on to a solution. When I restarted my laptop the login screen did have the h of logging in with fingerprint but unfortunately even the registered fingerprints did not work and I have to login with the password.
I just downloaded for windows 8. I too upgraded to Windws I didn’t completely understand that part.
